Council approves US23 curb-and-gutter change order; WWTP rebid planned after no bids

The Village of South Bloomfield council accepted a contractor change order to extend curb-and-gutter work to side streets on US23 and directed staff to rebid the WWTP Flow Equalization Project after no bidders responded to the initial solicitation.
Village Administrator Joe Allen said the change-order request would extend curb and gutter work onto side streets; Tom Ramsay moved to accept the change order, which carried with Amber Murphy abstaining. The abstention was recorded during the roll-call vote.
Allen also reported that no bids were received for the Flow Equalization Project. Plan-holders told staff the procurement timeline did not allow enough time to secure and deliver the required tank. Allen said he will work with Craig Stevenson to revise the bid specifications and reissue the solicitation to address delivery timing.
The council’s action on the US23 change order authorizes the engineering/contracting step described; staff said rebidding the WWTP project will include revised delivery and schedule requirements.
