Council member Andrew Birch resigns; nuisance form changes and county emergency-services meeting announced

Councilmember Jacoby Deshler told the Agency City Council on March 13 that she had received a texted resignation from Councilman Andrew Birch; Deshler said a verbal or texted resignation is acceptable under Iowa League guidance. The council recorded Birch as absent during roll-call votes.
Mayor Jake Johnson advised that the Wapello County Board of Supervisors will hold a public meeting about recognizing emergency services as an essential service on Tuesday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bridgeview Center and encouraged interested elected officials to RSVP by April 14.
Deshler also asked that the nuisance complaint form be revised to add a question asking whether the complainant consents to release of their name; she requested the addition be placed on the next council agenda for consideration.
The council additionally noted a letter from CMTEL stating it had revised its service area to include the City of Agency; no action was taken on that notice during the March 13 meeting.
