The Agency City Council on March 13 set a public hearing on a proposed property tax levy for April 10, 2025, approved an alcohol permit for a local BP location and carried several routine administrative motions.
Councilmember Jacoby Deshler moved to set the public hearing for April 10 at 7:00 p.m.; Councilmember Steve O’Brien seconded and the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Councilmembers Sara Jane Douglas, Jacoby Deshler and Steve O’Brien voting aye and no recorded nays. The hearing will provide a formal opportunity for residents to comment on the proposed levy before final action.
On a separate roll-call vote the council approved an alcohol permit for BP. The vote was recorded as Ayes: Deshler, Douglas, O’Brien; Nays: None; Absent: Birch, Ulin.
Also during the meeting the council approved the consent agenda and the evening's agenda by motion and carried them unanimously. Councilmember Sara Jane Douglas moved to approve the appointment of Patrick Short to the library board; Steve O’Brien seconded and the appointment was accepted by the same affirmative roll-call. The council also approved an update to the names on the city's safety deposit box to add City Clerk Angel Schafer and Mayor Jake Johnson while retaining Pam Muntz on the list.
Mayor Jake Johnson opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and the meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
