First Selectman updates Greenwich Crossing, Bush 41 statue venue and municipal AI task force

The First Selectman also highlighted America 250 Greenwich events through July 4—including a 'George in the Park' event at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park with historical reenactment and visiting vessels—and noted Independence Day plans on the town hall grounds.
On development, the First Selectman said Greenwich Crossing negotiations are advancing and that discussions with potential tenants, including a large restaurant, are close; he said final confirmations are pending. He announced a new golf operations manager had been selected after committee vetting, but the name will be released after background checks are complete.
Selectwoman Lauren described the town's newly formed municipal AI task force, which has met twice and will meet every two weeks to develop a use-case policy to govern municipal employees' use of AI tools. "The committee is working on a use case or a policy for municipal employees to actually use AI within the municipality," she said, adding the group is surveying departments about current AI use.
