Council sets community center fees, approves code recodification and schedules tax-levy hearing

Community services: The council revised community center rental fees to $100 for Andrew residents and $150 for non-residents, with a $50 refundable deposit and no charge for civic group use. Councilmember Zachary Jamison moved the fee change and Councilmember John Williams seconded; the motion passed with all ayes. Councilmember Tracey Till also said she will update the city webpage to reflect the new fees.
Code recodification: The council approved having ECIA recodify the city code for approximately $1,000. Councilmember Tracey Till moved to contract with ECIA; Councilmember Zachary Jamison seconded and the motion passed with all ayes.
Tax-levy hearing: The council set a tax-levy hearing for March 31 at 6:30 p.m.; Councilmember John Williams moved and Marcella Rowan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Street repairs and other items: Councilmember Donald Regan reported a $67,422 bid from River City Paving for street work; the council did not select which streets to repair at this meeting and will decide later. The mayor and council also reviewed logo options submitted by ECIA and asked the clerk to request alternative designs.
