"It's just been a pleasure having a business here in the city of St. Augustine Beach," said owner Doug Brunette, describing the firm's connection to the community and its on-site staff. Brunette said the firm has expanded "from five lawyers to now having 14 lawyers" since building the current office.
Brunette told Sweeny the practice began in 2009 and moved to the Seagrove location in 2015 after constructing the building. He added that the firm completed an addition last year, "and added on five offices and then extra staff stations," which he said helped accommodate growth.
The two also noted local economic activity and the firm's residential ties: Brunette said he and his family live in the City of St. Augustine Beach and that a substantial portion of staff live nearby. He reflected on his prior public-service role, saying, "it was a great experience to be the city attorney for seven years," and naming James Whitehouse as having served alongside him.
Sweeny thanked Brunette for appearing on Mondays with the Mayor and for choosing St. Augustine Beach as the firm's home. The segment closed with a brief sign-off and a preview to return the following week.
