The Town of Lake Clarke Shores Code Enforcement Board on Tuesday found a property at 7504 Neimic Drive North in violation of the town code after neighbors and the code officer said a commercial U-Haul remained parked on the residential lot for weeks.
Code enforcement officer Eric (first referenced as code enforcement officer) told the board that residents began reporting the vehicle on May 11 and that his multiple site visits and conversations with patrol officers showed the U-Haul repeatedly returned to the property. He said residents reported the truck was being used to store or remove construction debris, although he had not personally observed loading or dumping.
The issue drew testimony from neighbors who said the vehicle has been present for months. "It's there when I get up at 6:00 and it's there when I go to bed at 10:00," Maryanne Bogart said, describing safety and nuisance concerns tied to the broader condition of the property. Neighbor Linda Blash told the board she had seen the U-Haul filled with old attic insulation and said occupants described the truck as part of their remodeling work.
The board limited discussion to the commercial-vehicle issue and did not rule on other alleged violations at the property, which the code officer said will be addressed at a subsequent hearing. Citing the repeated presence of the truck and resident complaints, a board member moved that the respondent be found in violation of section 125-767B of the town code. The motion passed.
The board ordered compliance by Monday, June 22, 2026. If the respondent fails to comply, the board set a fine of up to $250 per day and scheduled a fine-assessment hearing for July 29, 2026.
The code officer said repeat violations on the same property can trigger higher penalties under the town rules and encouraged residents to submit time-stamped photos or reports to support enforcement. He also said police could not tow a vehicle parked on private property unless it was moved onto the public street and presented other legal grounds.
Next steps: the board will revisit broader property complaints at the next meeting, where the building department's findings and resident testimony may prompt further action.
