The North Liberty City Council approved Ordinance 2026-05 on April 14, providing for division of taxes levied on taxable property in the April 2025 addition to the North Liberty Urban Renewal Area.
The ordinance was presented for second consideration and cites section 403.19 of the Code of Iowa. Councilmembers Park, Fortney, Liebold and Wayson recorded aye votes on roll call; the mayor announced the motion carried 4–0.
Council did not record substantive debate on the ordinance in the meeting minutes. The ordinance implements tax increment financing (TIF) mechanics for a recent addition to the urban renewal area and will affect how incremental property tax revenues are allocated for project financing within that district.
