Los Alamitos USD board adopts 2026–27 budget and passes interfund transfer and EPA resolutions

The Los Alamitos Unified School District board adopted its 2026–27 annual budget at the June 23 meeting and approved related financial resolutions including temporary interfund transfers and Education Protection Account (EPA) use.

Board members approved a resolution authorizing temporary interfund transfers, describing the transfers as an annual cash-flow mechanism the district uses as needed. The item was adopted by roll-call vote.

The board then approved the 2026–27 annual budget as presented on June 9 with no changes; the motion passed on a recorded vote noted in the meeting as "Passes 5 0." Later the board adopted a resolution to maintain statutory compliance for the Education Protection Account and confirmed that EPA funds will be used for teacher salaries, consistent with prior practice.

District staff described the budget presentation and noted no changes since the June 9 presentation. The meeting also included routine housekeeping actions connected to financial controls, including updating authorized signers following retirements so electronic vendor approvals and claims can continue without interruption.

The board approved several related administrative items, including authorization of designated signers and acceptance of year-end donations totaling $178,677 (about $1.2 million year-to-date). No budget amendments were adopted at the meeting.
