The Lake of the Woods School Board acted on several routine governance items in a single block of votes during the working session.
By voice vote the board approved the meeting agenda with the removal of new business item D (motion recorded as "Motion by Sver, seconded by Sonstagard"), approved the July 28 regular meeting minutes, and approved invoices, financial statements, bank reconciliations, wire transfers and purchase-card statements.
Personnel motions passed by voice vote. The board approved the personnel appointments and resignations presented: appointments listed in the packet included Michaela Branch (high school social studies), Marissa Banner (paraprofessional), Darbyanne Gillespie (food service) and David Peterson (pool coordinator); a resignation by Kelsey Armstrong (paraprofessional) was also recorded. The board also approved a teacher contract with Nathan Solar for the 2025-26 school year.
The board scheduled the truth-and-taxation hearing for Monday, Dec. 15, 2025 at 6 p.m. in the ITV room (motion carried). The board approved a user agreement with Betett Lutheran Parish for Ruby's Pantry and approved policy revisions including updates to pupil-records protections and internet/acceptable-use rules; staff said some changes reflect MSBA or state recommendations and that policy 515 was updated to clarify parents' information is included.
All motions were carried by voice vote; the transcript records motioners and seconders on each item but does not show roll-call tallies.
