Montebello trustees approve Manhattan Beer PILOT, accept MS4 report and complete routine business

At its March 18 meeting the Village of Montebello Board of Trustees approved a series of resolutions covering municipal finances, personnel and routine operations.
The Board approved Resolution 26‑032 establishing a Payment‑In‑Lieu‑of‑Taxes (PILOT) agreement for a project involving Manhattan Beer at 10 and 20 Dunnigan Drive. Trustees approved a five‑year abatement on new work beginning at 50% and tapering by 10 percentage points per year, with certain agreed assessed‑valuation provisions and a retroactive effective date of March 1, 2026 to ratify an earlier written poll vote. The Board’s motion carried unanimously (4–0 with Deputy Mayor Caridi absent).
Trustees also accepted the Village’s annual MS4 stormwater report (Resolution 26‑024) after the Village Engineer, Martin Spence, confirmed reporting obligations under GP‑0‑24‑001 had been met; the Board directed that the accepted report be appended to the NYSDEC submission.
Personnel and administrative actions included acceptance of Associate Village Justice Karen A. Riley’s retirement and the appointment of Erin Jimenez as Deputy Village Clerk at an annual salary of $56,000, effective through the next reorganization meeting. The Board approved the Abstract & Schedule of Claims totaling $161,176.39 and separate professional fees of $17,096.95 and a LOC draw fund claim of $621.00.
The Board authorized a 63‑month lease for a Sharp 71C31 copier at $368.50 per month subject to Village Attorney approval, and approved spending $625 from the Shade Tree Fund to purchase and plant a flowering cherry tree at Village Hall for Arbor Day.
