Consultant report on city-run liquor enterprises set for special meeting; manager cites sizable levy contribution

Council members said Delaney was hired to provide an independent, deeper analysis of operations, infrastructure needs and financial sustainability. The consultant engagement was described in the meeting as a paid contract in the roughly $70,000–$80,000 range; council members characterized the expense as an investment intended to identify ways to strengthen margins and protect the levy contribution.
Questions from residents at the town hall covered whether Delaney would make infrastructure recommendations for the Pickle (leaky roofs, failing seating and cooler issues were discussed). Council members said staff had paused nonessential spending pending the consultant’s report but noted the council had previously authorized some stool replacements; Delaney’s assessments and recommendations will inform any larger capital or operational choices.
The consultant’s report will be included in the council packet ahead of the special meeting; staff encouraged public attendance and review of the packet materials.
