Police warn of large bridge demonstration Saturday; expect parking restrictions

Oak Park Heights Police Chief Eisinger informed the council that organizers have planned a demonstration on the bridge road this Saturday between noon and 2 p.m., and that organizers expect a large turnout.
"There will be a large demonstration up on the bridge road bridge... they were expecting approximately 1,500 plus to attend," Chief Eisinger said. The department plans additional officers on duty and temporary no-parking restrictions in nearby residential areas to manage traffic. Staff have coordinated with Washington County and with businesses along the frontage road to mitigate impacts.
The chief told council that organizers have been cooperative and that the department has not experienced issues at similar events in the past, but he advised businesses and residents that the demonstration will generate a significant number of cars and asked for patience while the city handles traffic and parking during the event.
The council did not take action; the notice was informational. Residents seeking details were advised to contact police or city staff.
