Board takes neutral stance on Clymer Road variance and discusses sewer inflow concerns

At its May 27, 2025 meeting the East Rockhill Township Board of Supervisors voted to take a neutral position on a Zoning Hearing Board application seeking a side-yard setback variance at 5284 Clymer Road. Applicant Aaron Harris attended the meeting to answer questions. The motion to take a neutral position was made by Supervisor Jim Nietupski and seconded by Supervisor Dave Nyman; the motion carried unanimously.
During the Public Works report, Director Jeff Scholl highlighted general activity and noted concerns about inflow and infiltration into the sewer system at the Three Mile Run pump station that “could be the result of sump pumps being illegally connected to the public sewer system.” The Board accepted the Pennridge Wastewater Treatment Authority March and April minutes and flow reports, which were provided to the Board for review.
In public comment, Larry Wheatley of 5 Boulder Drive said the seller of the existing skate-park equipment will buy the equipment back and stated he does not support donating the equipment. He also asked what CAD software caused the compatibility issue discussed earlier; the minutes record the response as MicroStation.
The Board noted a conditional-use hearing for the Perkasie Regional Authority Well House #7 will be advertised for June 24, 2025. The meeting adjourned into executive session at 7:47 PM for real estate acquisition and personnel matters.
