STATHAM, Ga. — The Statham City Council on Oct. 28 unanimously approved the release and quitclaim of a sidewalk right-of-way easement to Statham Market, LLC, authorizing staff to substitute an appropriate legal description after an examination of title.
Councilmember Penn moved for the quitclaim and to permit the legal-description substitution pending title review; Councilmember Terilli seconded. The council recorded five affirmative votes — Terilli, Bogenrieder, Patterson, Penn and Burnette — and the motion passed 5-0.
The action, listed as Voting Item III.1 on the agenda of a special called meeting, transfers the city's interest in the described sidewalk easement to Statham Market, LLC and allows staff and the city attorney to finalize the legal description following a title examination. The council minutes and the motion did not specify the exact parcel description in the record; the council authorized substitution of a corrected or final legal description after title work is completed.
After the vote the council immediately took a motion to adjourn. Councilmember Patterson moved to adjourn; Councilmember Penn seconded. The council again voted 5-0, and the meeting adjourned at 8:55 a.m.
The meeting opened at 8:46 a.m. with an invocation from Councilmember Burnette and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mayor Krause. City Attorney Jody Campbell, City Clerk Nicole Sapp and City Administrator Cheryl Venable were listed as present. The meeting was held at the Statham Community Center, 336 Jefferson Street.
