Board grants conditional use, waivers for Perkasie Regional Authority filtration building at Well 7

Perkasie Regional Authority representatives — including Sean Torpey, P.E., Jakob Reilly, Manager Nick Fretz and Chairperson David Watt — presented the plan and described the proposed structure as an architectural match to the recent Well 14 building. The board’s approvals were made contingent on compliance with Wynn Associates correspondence dated June 4, 2025, specifically modifications to buffer item number three that are subject to the Township Engineer’s approval. The board also granted waivers for the park and recreation fee and financial security.
The public hearing was opened for comment. Resident Lou DiTonno asked whether water testing would take place; officials said operations would remain the same under Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection requirements. Other residents asked about building dimensions and requested barn or carriage-house architectural features be considered.
On a motion by Supervisor Dave Nyman, seconded by Supervisor Jim Nietupski, the board approved the Conditional Use and the Waiver of Land Development; the minutes note that "with no additional discussion, all present voted in favor." The board then closed the hearing.
Next steps: project compliance with Wynn Associates’ June 4 correspondence and Township Engineer approval of buffer modifications are conditions for moving forward; no change to water operations was recorded at the hearing.
