Danvers COA clarifies van parking to aid snowplow access; bylaws to be red-lined for next meeting

At the Feb. 19 meeting of the Town of Danvers Council on Aging board, Director Matthew Mitchell described adjustments to employee and van parking to improve snowplow access and prevent conflicts with the public.
Mitchell said employees are now parking in the lot beside the soccer field. To keep the lot clear for plowing, van parking will likely be organized as follows: Vans 403, 405, and 406 in the three back-left spots; Vans 401, 402, and 404 in the last three spots of the middle section (back left), with cones marking van-only spaces. Van drivers will place an orange cone when they leave in the morning and return it in front of their van upon return. Mitchell said he will post a message on the lobby message board asking the public not to park where cones are placed.
Separately, the board discussed proposed changes to the DCOA bylaws. Mitchell will draft recommended edits, produce a red-lined version, and email it to board members for review; the board will vote on the bylaws at its next meeting on March 19.
Marge Leonard moved to adjourn the meeting at 3:40 p.m.; Elaine Hegan seconded and "all were in favor," according to minutes.
