Police commissioners accept minutes, receive February reports; resident asks for more Quaker Hill patrols

At its March 9, 2026 meeting in the Town Hall Auditorium, the Waterford Board of Police Commissioners accepted the February 9 regular meeting minutes and the March 4 special meeting minutes. Both motions were made by Commissioner C. Gamble and seconded by Commissioner J. Dimmock; both motions passed.

During the public input period, resident Helen Kwasniewski asked the board to increase patrols in Quaker Hill because of a recent uptick in ATV, e-bike and motorcycle activity as weather improved, and she requested action to address anticipated late-night loud music from a nearby college.

The board recorded no correspondence and received a traffic report. The Chief's monthly reports for February (K9, youth reports, investigative services, training, support services, patrol, animal control and community engagement) were received without formal action.

In old business Lieutenant D. Ferland provided information about the Police Commissioners Association meeting schedule and locations; Commissioner Gelinas said he would inquire about attending a Zoom meeting before deciding on membership.

Later the board voted, on a motion by Commissioner J. Dimmock seconded by Commissioner C. Gamble, to enter an executive session including LT Ferland at 5:23 p.m. The board exited executive session at 6:27 p.m.; the meeting minutes state that no votes or actions were taken while in executive session. The board then voted to adjourn at 6:28 p.m.
