At its March 5 meeting the Town of Danvers Board of Health reviewed environmental-health updates including permit renewals, new and returning food establishments, and farmers market fees.
Staff reported 13 food establishments remained outstanding on their 2026 permit renewals and provided a list of new or upcoming businesses: Bread Basket (90 Elm Street), Chick-fil-A (new construction plan under review), Saltwater Grill (opening at the former I Pazzi site at 84 Maple Street) and Domino's, which reopened following chimney repairs. Minutes noted Tank Garden vendors are applying for sausage-making operations and that the USDA confirmed no special inspection is required for those operations.
The board recorded an unreported ownership change at Liberty Pizza in Liberty Tree Mall; minutes state the establishment is required to close until it completes plan review and obtains Board of Health approvals and Town Clerk licensing.
On farmers market fees the board reaffirmed the established fee structure: $50 per farmers market weekend (one to three consecutive days), paid by the event organizer; individual vendors selling food must obtain a $35 temporary food permit valid for 14 days; vendors selling only produce are not required to pay the food permit fee.
