The Dighton Board of Selectmen approved two personnel actions: naming Melanie Silva as office manager for the highway department and promoting Katherine Molinsky to librarian of technical services.
Staff said Silva had experience in the assessor’s office and performed well in an interview with the HR coordinator and department representatives; Silva joined the meeting by Zoom and said, "Well, I am so happy and excited to hear" that she had been selected. The board moved and approved the appointment by voice vote.
The board also approved a promotion recommended by library director Mark Hartnik for Katherine Molinsky, who has been performing technical services work for about a year. Hartnik told the board Molinsky had interviewed well and had taken on the responsibilities in practice; Molinsky said she was glad to be considered for the role and described her work processing new books and managing circulation statistics. The motion to approve the appointment was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Both appointments were accompanied by brief congratulatory remarks and the board invited photographs to commemorate the promotions. The board recorded voice votes; the transcript does not contain roll-call tallies or the names of motion movers.
