Council approves Goins Park shelter removal, authorizes Snyder & Associates to move forward on GIS proposal and hears several operational updates
Summary

At the March 16 meeting the Lake City City Council approved work tied to the Park Revitalization Project and authorized staff to advance an outside GIS mapping proposal while receiving several routine operational updates.
Councilmember Bruns moved (second by Wilson) to remove the east shelter and remove specified trees in Goins Park; the motion passed unanimously. Council also discussed disposition of tables from the existing shelter, applying a top coat to the tennis court to permit parking, and possible installation of video cameras at the park's volleyball courts as part of ongoing planning.
On GIS services, staff presented competing proposals from MSA and Snyder & Associates and recommended Snyder & Associates. Council authorized staff to move forward with Snyder & Associates (motion by Bruns; second by Gorden). Council noted that a formal resolution accepting Snyder & Associates’ proposal will be presented at the next regular meeting.
Operational updates included City Administrator Mikayla Dorman's notice that DA Davidson is preparing a financial review of the water fund to support an upcoming water rate study; Public Works Director Janssen reported that the truck for the snowplow has been ordered; and Chief James said staff are still attempting to secure a new police vehicle.
