On March 16, 2026, the Lake City City Council approved a general obligation lease for a new snowplow and adopted several routine resolutions, and set a public hearing for the FY27 budget.
The council adopted RESOLUTION 2026-21, authorizing a general obligation snowplow lease (motion by Vogt; second by Bruns). The roll call vote recorded ayes from Councilmembers Bruns, Wilson, Gorden and Vogt; Councilmember Daniel was absent. The lease follows a public hearing that was opened and closed without public comment earlier in the meeting.
The council also adopted RESOLUTION 2026-20 to set a public hearing for the FY27 budget (motion by Wilson; second by Vogt), RESOLUTION 2026-18 to approve an agreement with Lake City Betterment for marketing services (motion by Gorden; second by Wilson), and RESOLUTION 2026-19 to restrict CD funds (motion by Gorden; second by Wilson). All of those motions passed by roll call with the same affirmative votes and with Daniel absent.
Chief James introduced two new reserve officers and Mayor Mike Schleisman administered the oath of office to both. The council approved the consent agenda earlier in the meeting, which included approval of minutes, two alcohol license renewals (Sparky's and Morrow's), and the Summary List of Claims.
