Sheriff Riley opened the public-safety portion of the meeting with an update on coverage for the city. Council then considered RESOLUTION 2026-11, moved by Bruns and seconded by Daniel. The roll-call vote recorded ayes from Vogt, Daniel, Gorden, Wilson and Bruns; the resolution passed.
The council also adopted RESOLUTION 2026-10 separately appointing the City Administrator as the city's representative to the Calhoun County Economic Development Corporation.
Council took no additional action on policing staffing or service levels beyond the adoption of the intergovernmental agreement and the verbal update from the sheriff. The recorded vote for RESOLUTION 2026-11 was unanimous among members present.
Next steps: Implementation of the 28E agreement will proceed consistent with the agreement terms and county coordination; staff and the sheriff's office will handle operational details.
