A board member distributed a Visit Marshfield tourism brochure at the June meeting and summarized figures for visitor spending, labor income, state and local taxes and the number of jobs supported by tourism in Wood County, encouraging board attendance at next year’s tourism banquet.
Board members also praised recent hosting of the Wisconsin County Forest Association annual summer tour and thanked parks and forestry staff. Parks staff reported that doors are currently being installed at the Powers Bluff facility and that reservations for the site are expected to open within about two weeks; the board was advised to check the county’s Facebook page for scheduling updates.
The chair closed with a reminder to residents to be safe during Fourth of July activities and adjourned the meeting.
