The new officers' backgrounds noted by Chief Symington included Robinson's degree in criminal justice and training at regional law enforcement centers, Innerley's years of service in Pontiac including roles as patrol officer, detective and school resource officer, and Krasny's tenure with the Clinton Police Department and DeWitt County Sheriff's Office. Chief Symington also referenced Innerley's prior Bloomington Police Department letter of commendation for deployment of a department drone during a high‑risk incident in October 2025.
Mayor Brady and several councilmembers stepped forward to offer congratulations. The council expressed appreciation for the officers' commitment and the department's emphasis on community partnership and professional development.
The recognition required no formal vote and did not include policy changes; it was recorded as part of the council's ceremonial and recognition items for the evening.
