Highway superintendent reports salt-shed progress and readies equipment; seasonal road closure posted

Michael Andrews, Malone’s Highway Superintendent, told the board the surplus auction was delayed due to his usual auction contact being out of office but that all items would be posted on the Town website the following day. Andrews said concrete work for the new salt shed is finished, trusses are expected within one to two weeks, and that roof and siding have been ordered. He also said all plow trucks have been serviced, inspected and passed for the snow season.
Andrews thanked the Town for accommodating BOCES students at recent work activities and asked the board for permission to post the seasonal road closure notice. Deputy Supervisor Terrence Maguire moved and Councilor Jody Johnston seconded posting the seasonal road closure starting Dec. 1, 2024 through April 1, 2025; the motion passed unanimously.
The superintendent’s report covered routine operational readiness for winter and short-term infrastructure progress on the salt-shed project; no budgetary amounts for the salt shed were listed in the public minutes.
