Town Manager Grant Kleinhenz reviewed proposals to replace a damaged police vehicle and recommended the quote from John Jones Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Corydon at $43,856.50 because that dealer could deliver a vehicle within roughly 30 days while other bidders estimated 90–180 days or were uncertain they could supply the correct Durango police package.
"John Jones price is still the same, 43,856.50, which is about $490 higher than the next lowest, but after those discussions, John Jones is the only one that has a vehicle that could be within 30 days," Kleinhenz said. He added that the purchase will be paid as a replacement cost through the town's insurance.
Councilors moved and seconded approval of the quote and the purchase was approved by a 4–0 vote.
