At the Feb. 2 meeting the Le Sueur-Henderson School District board heard multiple committee reports and approved routine business including acceptance of donated funds for student activities.
Policy committee members reported they will bring a recommendation at the next meeting to raise district purchasing policy 797's threshold from $5,000 to $10,000 to address inflation and operational needs; the change will be presented for board action at a future meeting. The committee also completed its annual review of the 300, 800 and 900 policy series and reviewed a proposed foreign-exchange student policy that staff and Miss Schmidt will develop further before it comes to the full board.
The board also approved a resolution accepting listed donations and grants to the district. Donors recorded in the meeting materials and read aloud included: Senica Food Corp ($182), Game On Art Museum / Willow Custom Frames ($182), Knights of Columbus ($757.98) for kindergarten supplies and activities, the Mitch Thoon Memorial Foundation ($500) for ski club, United Fund of Le Sueur ($500) for ski club, Le Sueur Lions Club ($500) for the ski club and Crystal Valley ($500) for FFA. The board approved acceptance of those gifts by roll call.
In other business the board appointed Bridget to serve as the district representative on a committee; the motion and roll call were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Board members asked staff to circulate policy materials ahead of the next meeting and to clarify any procedural or coding questions related to miscellaneous account balances ahead of the March finance review.
