The Mayor and City Council approved requests from the Great Pocomoke Fair, Inc. to host Renegade Monster Trucks on Aug. 22, 2026, with two shows planned at 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., and approved a one-day alcohol permit for the event.
Gloria J. Smith, representing the fairgrounds volunteer committee, told the council organizers requested approval to sell alcohol and that Renegade Monster Trucks had performed for the fair in 2025 without reported problems. Council members said they did not see police and public works sign-offs on the event form and made the event approval contingent on those signatures being obtained.
A motion to approve the event pending police and public works signatures carried by voice vote. The separate special one-day alcohol permit (beer, wine and liquor; fee indicated as $100 per day on the application) was approved by voice vote; the applicant on the permit form was listed as Gloria J. Smith.
Council members asked organizers to ensure required departmental sign-offs are secured and requested staff provide full documentation if questions arise.
