The Northbrook School District 28 Board of Education appointed Whitney Golden to fill a vacant seat and administered the oath of office at its June 23 meeting.
After reviewing 10 applicants and interviewing four finalists, the board moved and seconded a nomination to appoint Whitney Golden; the roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from each member present. The board then asked Golden to recite the oath of office; she read the oath in full, pledging to "faithfully discharge the duties of the office of member of the board of education of Northbrook School District 28" and to protect district assets.
President Silvershack welcomed Golden and noted she will receive follow-up from staff for a public profile. Meeting comments also referenced Golden's background in law and nonprofit work as a qualification for board service. The newly sworn member will assume full duties immediately and join colleagues for upcoming board business.
