South River Board honors retiring educators including Lynn Boiler and Kim Yuria

At its June 18, 2026 meeting the South River Board of Education recognized multiple employees who are retiring after long service to the South River Public School District.

President of the Board called retirees to the stage and read resolutions honoring their careers. The board recognized Lynn Boiler for 27 years as an elementary and middle school health and physical-education teacher, praising her energy and longstanding community involvement. The board also honored Rob (Robert) Felman for his work at the high school (2022—6), including teaching mathematics, leading credit-recovery and alternative programs, and contributing to curriculum writing.

Corey Praasini, identified in the remarks as a middle school guidance counselor who served on the school improvement panel and as an anti-bullying staff member, addressed the board. “It has been an incredible privilege to spend the last 25 years in education,” Praasini said, adding that she leaves “with a heart full of gratitude and pride.”

The board also honored Kim Yuria, described in remarks as having served the district since 1999 in roles including teacher, curriculum writer and director of special education. Speakers credited Yuria with building programs and strengthening supports for students with special needs.

The president thanked all retirees and invited them to remain after the meeting for the recognition. The board noted additional retirements, including Maria Hunzel Roco Richio and a board member (Shaz Hussein), and extended appreciation for their service.

The board then resumed its agenda after the recognition segment and continued with the superintendents monthly report and committee business.
