Southampton Township’s Committee approved the 2018 budget by title and scheduled a public hearing and adoption for May 15, 2018 at 8:00 p.m.
At the April 17 meeting, Committeeman Ronald Heston moved to approve Resolution 2018-43 (Budget by Title); Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell seconded and Heston, Deputy Mayor William Raftery, Rossell and Mayor James F. Young, Sr. voted in the affirmative. Committeeman Mikulski was excused due to military duty.
The committee then introduced Resolution 2018-44 to set the formal public hearing and adoption on May 15 at 8:00 p.m. Committeeman Heston moved the introduction and Deputy Mayor Raftery seconded; the motion passed by the same unanimous roll-call vote among members present.
Under the Open Public Meetings Act, the Municipal Clerk/Administrator read the required public-notice statement at the start of the meeting. The committee’s action on April 17 advances the budget process to the required public hearing, when members will receive public comment and consider final adoption.
