Southampton Township committee adopts Pinelands amendment and approves multiple resolutions
Summary
On Nov. 20, 2018, the Southampton Township Committee unanimously approved Ordinance No. 2018-13 (Pinelands development amendments) on its second reading and a slate of resolutions covering budget transfers, a service agreement, sale of township property, employee manual changes and finance procedures.
The Southampton Township Committee approved an amendment to Chapter XIX (Pinelands Development) and a package of administrative resolutions at its Nov. 20, 2018 regular meeting.
On second reading, the committee adopted Ordinance No. 2018-13 amending the township code related to Pinelands development. Mayor James F. Young, Sr. opened the public portion; no members of the public spoke and the committee voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance after Committeeman Mikulski moved for approval and Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell seconded.
The committee then approved six resolutions by unanimous roll-call votes: Resolution 2018-99 (Budgetary Transfers); 2018-100 (authorizing an operating service agreement with Utility Services Affiliates, Inc.); 2018-101 (awarding the bid for sale of township property on Cedar Water Road); 2018-102 (amendments to the employee manual); 2018-103 (electronic funds transfer procedures); and 2018-104 (authorizing deposit and signing authority for township accounts). Each motion was moved and seconded on the record and carried with all members voting in the affirmative.
The committee also voted to approve the payment of bills after a motion carried on a unanimous roll call. Earlier in the meeting Committeeman Mikulski moved to table the Oct. 16, 2018 minutes; that motion was recorded as carried.
After returning from executive session the committee approved Resolution 2018-106 to continue discussions toward a potential shared-service agreement with Mansfield for court services.
