Southampton Committee unanimously approves year-end resolutions, Teamsters contract and farm lease

At its Dec. 18 meeting the Southampton Township Committee unanimously approved a slate of year-end resolutions, including a collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 701, a farm lease for the Good Farm, and multiple tax-assessor adjustments. The Southampton Township Committee on Dec. 18 unanimously approved a group of year-end measures, including a collective bargaining agreement with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 701 and a farm lease for the Good Farm.
Mayor James F. Young, Sr. opened the meeting at 8:00 p.m. and the Committee first approved minutes for the Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 regular and executive meetings (motion to approve Oct. 16 minutes by Committeeman Ronald Heston; seconded by Committeeman Mikulski; motion to approve Nov. 20 minutes by Committeeman Mikulski; seconded by Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell). All roll-call votes noted at the meeting were affirmative.
The Committee approved Resolution 2018-107, authorizing township budgetary transfers. The meeting then adopted a consent agenda covering Resolutions 2018-108 through 2018-116 — all described in the agenda as tax-assessor-recommended adjustments to the tax collector’s records and accounts. Committeeman Mikulski moved the consent agenda and Committeewoman Rossell seconded; the roll call was unanimous.
Later in the session the Committee voted to approve Resolution 2018-117, authorizing a leave of absence for Brian Wortham; Resolution 2018-118, awarding the lease for the Good Farm; and Resolution 2018-119, making temporary appointments for coverage in the Township Construction Office. The meeting closed that block of business by approving Resolution 2018-120, authorizing execution of a collective bargaining agreement between the Township and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 701. Each motion was seconded and carried by unanimous roll call votes.
Committeeman Ronald Heston moved, and Committeeman Mikulski seconded, approval of bills for payment (including an additional item noted at the meeting); that motion also passed unanimously.
No dissent was recorded in the public meeting minutes. After the votes, the Committee entered an executive session (Resolution 2018-121) at 8:48 p.m. to discuss contracts, personnel and shared services; the public record notes no formal action was taken in open session after executive session. The meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m.
