Interim Manager Iola advised against encouraging people to submit resumes directly and asked that candidates wait for the official posting. The city attorney cautioned that the contract with the search firm requires referrals to be channeled through the firm: "the contract document with SDR says that if there are prospective applicants ... we're required to refer them directly to SDR and not to accept them ourselves," the attorney said, urging compliance with the contracted process.
After discussion commissioners confirmed plans to proceed with the firm and to schedule interviews between search-firm representatives and individual commissioners as part of the search timeline. Staff will provide commissioners with meeting schedules and suggested questions for candidate interviews.
