Board members acknowledged the difficulty of the decision during brief discussion; several described closing and reconfiguring buildings as one of the hardest decisions they have faced and emphasized that the action was taken with students'' interests in mind.
Superintendent Landry told the public the district website includes a "District Reconfiguration" drop‑down and an FAQ intended to address concerns and provide implementation details, and encouraged community members to consult those resources for schedules and transition plans.
The closures are effective at the end of the 2026–2027 school year; further administrative work will be required to finalize student placements, transportation routes and facility disposition or sale. The board recorded motions to sell Lynch following closure and to repurpose Murphy as the virtual program site.
