Several members said the packet had been tabled during a prior meeting and that additional subcommittee work was appropriate before a final vote.
Committee members discussed logistics for a second read, with several expressing a desire to resolve remaining items in one or two special meetings before the end of July. The Chair and members agreed to reconvene the policy subcommittee, circulate formal comments by email to the subcommittee chair (avoiding quorum-level deliberation), and schedule special meetings for additional review and a second read vote. The administration said some handbook and staff‑training work hinges on completing the policy reviews in time for fall implementation.
No final votes were taken on the MASC packet during the workshop; members who had substantive concerns said they would submit specific amendment requests to the subcommittee for consideration.
