Separately, commissioners discussed a community-art idea to form an arch or display from smaller painted foam soccer balls to coincide with Doraville’s summer soccer games beginning June 19. They debated ball size (recommended 4–6 inches), distribution logistics (single event versus drop-in painting at library or DART), school and summer-camp participation, and a preliminary plan to test sample balls for durability before a large purchase.
The commission asked staff to collect vendor quotes for banners and supplies, confirm paint compatibility with mural and box materials, and return with a distribution plan.
