Kristina Doucharm, chair of the Economic Development Committee, said the committee will press the Town Board for better communication on the moratorium’s requirements, its likely economic impacts and a clearer timetable for when restrictions will end. Jacob Tesla said the Town Board is "on track to close out the moratorium by the end of the year." The committee did not adopt a formal ordinance or change policy at the meeting; it recorded these updates and set follow-up outreach as its next step.
The EDC’s discussion also noted ongoing reviews of Department of Environmental Conservation wetlands standards and a pending Agricultural Business District review, matters Supervisor McKeon relayed in his response to the committee. The Sept. 25 public hearing on the sewer law was listed as the immediate procedural milestone.
Votes at a glance: The committee approved the July 24, 2024 meeting minutes after a motion by Maarty Reilingh and a second from Amanda Bodian; the motion passed unanimously.
