EDC chair seeks update on sewer grant as moratorium conditions remain

Kristina Doucharm, chair of the Economic Development Committee, told members on July 24 that a sewer grant deadline in June has passed and that it is not known whether the Town submitted a proposal on time. She outlined three conditions the committee identified as necessary to end the local moratorium: establishing a sewer district, adoption of new wetlands rules, and changes to agricultural zoning.
Doucharm said she will request a formal grant-status update from the Town Board so the committee can determine whether work tied to the grant can proceed. The committee’s discussion framed those three items—sewer district formation, wetlands-rule changes, and ag‑zoning adjustments—as interlocking prerequisites to restarting development activity affected by the moratorium.
The committee also ratified routine minutes from its June 24 meeting. Amanda Bodian moved to approve the minutes; Maarty Reilingh seconded, and the minutes were approved unanimously.
Members did not record additional formal votes or adopt new policies at the July 24 session. The committee scheduled its next meeting for 8:40 a.m. on Sept. 11, 2024 at the Village Building. The meeting adjourned at 9:35 a.m.
