Dublin council authorizes safety action plan contract with Foresight Group for SS4A/Vision Zero work

The Dublin City Council voted to authorize a contract with Foresight Group LLC to develop a comprehensive Safe Streets for All (SS4A) safety action plan and separately adopted a Vision Zero safety action plan resolution required for the grant process.
Staff told the council the consultant brings experience helping other communities and will review city ordinances, development regulations and road construction practices to produce actionable recommendations aimed at reducing pedestrian and bicycle incidents and fatalities. The council noted the plan will position Dublin to seek implementation funds in the future.
Council members said the public will be engaged and that a local steering committee — including Councilman Chain — will work with staff and county partners during the planning process. The council approved Resolution 2602 to authorize the contract and Resolution 2603 to adopt the plan goals and enable the expedited schedule staff described.
The council did not discuss contract dollar amounts during the meeting; staff said the goal is to have a plan ready by early June to support future grant applications.
