The Burlington City Council on May 4 approved a one‑year amendment to the 28E agreement with the Burlington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to continue sharing hotel/motel tax revenues under the existing formula.
City staff described the amendment as a one‑year renewal that keeps current terms in place. Under the arrangement, the city allocates 30 percent of the first $700,000 in hotel/motel revenues to the CVB and 40 percent of revenues above $700,000. Staff said the city budgeted $1.1 million in hotel/motel revenues for fiscal 2027, which would translate to an estimated CVB contribution in the $350,000–$370,000 range under the stated percentages.
Council members voted 5–0 to approve the amended 28E agreement. Staff said no other changes were made to the revenue‑sharing elements for this one‑year renewal.
