Council approves $15,000 Chamber of Commerce amendment for Fourth of July parade security

"The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
A motion to approve Resolution 1881 was made and seconded; council voted in favor by voice vote and the resolution passed. The motion was introduced on the floor and approved without recorded roll‑call names attached to the aye responses in the meeting transcript.
The funding is intended to support parade safety on July 4; council did not attach additional conditions or a reporting schedule in the June 22 motion. Staff said they were available to answer questions; none were raised at the time of the vote.
Next steps: With council approval, the mayor is authorized to execute the amendment to the Chamber of Commerce agreement; the parks department will coordinate barrier procurement and staff scheduling for the event.
