Stow-Munroe Falls board approves Eric Soltis as district treasurer

The action came at a brief special meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. at the district central office. Board members noted an exhaustive search process run with help from the Summit County Educational Service Center and named staff who assisted in vetting candidates. The board moved and seconded approval of Soltis’s contract and recorded a 5–0 roll-call vote in favor.
Board speakers said Soltis brings experience the district needs: seven years as a public school treasurer plus seven years as an assistant treasurer, including work in districts similar in size to Stow-Munroe Falls. The board also referenced awards earned by the treasurer departments where he worked and described a record of clean audits and greater fiscal transparency during his tenure.
“We're really happy to have Mr. Soltis here with us,” one board member said, echoing others who welcomed him and his family to the district.
Addressing the board after the vote, Soltis said he was grateful for the opportunity and looked forward to collaborating with the board, superintendent, staff and community. “I'm just very appreciative of the opportunity. I'm really looking forward to partnering with the board, superintendent, staff, and community to get started and accomplish great things,” he said.
The meeting included no public comment. After completing the appointment and recording the vote, the board immediately moved to adjourn and ended the meeting at 6:09 p.m.
The appointment and contract approval conclude the district’s search process for a permanent treasurer; the record of the meeting does not specify an effective start date for Soltis or the contract terms beyond that the board approved the contract on June 23.
