During new business on June 18, board members told their colleagues they had not received expected township recycling funding from the state since 2023 and that the shortfall is significant for the township budget.
A supervisor said he had contacted Representative Zimmerman’s office and that staff provided program numbers; follow-up calls were expected. Another supervisor said the township had not received its recycling funding since 2023 and that the amount in discussion in board remarks was approximately $300,000 per year; staff said they would continue outreach to state officials and follow up with the board.
The board instructed staff to continue contacting the representative’s office and the relevant state contacts to resolve the missing payments and to report back at the next meeting or sooner if the funds are located.
