The historical commission's vice chair, Jim Bzala, presented the results of an America 250 student art competition. Thirteen finalists were selected across four age categories; supervisors made 'supervisor's choice' awards and a people's choice voting period runs through June 30. The finalists and awards will be displayed and presented at a July 11 food-truck and community event at East Brandywine Community Park, where organizers will also stage a reading of the Declaration of Independence ahead of a fireworks display.
