Permits at a glance: Hull Conservation Commission issues RDAs for multiple shoreline properties, continues several items to July 14
Summary
At its June 23 meeting the Commission issued negative determinations (RDAs) with site-specific conditions for multiple shoreline properties (337 Beach Ave; 139 Atlantic Ave; 45 Terrain Ave; 825 Nantasket Ave; 0 George Washington Blvd; 634 Ave). Several hearings were continued to July 14 (15 Clifton Ave; 12 Montford Rd; Western Ave NOI; North Nantasket Beach O&M Plan).
The Hull Conservation Commission used its June 23 meeting to clear a slate of small residential Requests for Determination of Applicability (RDAs), most of which were approved with standard or site-specific special conditions, and to schedule further review on several pending notices of intent.
Actions taken (selected):
- 634 (RDA): Negative Determination issued after applicant (contractor Anthony Bagni) clarified the shed dimensions to match drawings; roll-call approval.
- 337 Beach Ave (RDA): Negative Determination issued for an elevated outdoor shower draining to beach sand; staff and commissioners had no objections; unanimous vote.
- 139 Atlantic Ave (RDA): Negative Determination issued with a special condition requiring the shed foundation to be elevated/flow-through so as to maintain sand permeability and allow stormflow; unanimous vote.
- 45 Terrain Ave (RDA): Negative Determination granted with special conditions: permeable pavers only, pavers to remain permeable in perpetuity, and prohibition on stone dust; motion passed by roll call.
- 45 Nantasket Ave / 825 Nantasket Ave (RDA): Negative Determination for one sonotube footing to stabilize rear stairs; commissioners found no wetlands issues and approved the RDA.
- 0 George Washington Blvd (RDA): Negative Determination issued for exploratory hand-dug test pits and temporary footpaths; special conditions require manual methods only and that work avoid mapped priority habitat.
Continuances and scheduling notes:
- 15 Clifton Ave: Applicant requested and was granted a continuance to July 14 because the DEP number was not yet available.
- 12 Montford Road (Rhoda De Vito patio): Continued to July 14 to allow the applicant to provide property boundary information and updated plans.
- Western Ave NOI (Amidon driveway): Continued to July 14 to allow town-council review of filing sufficiency after abutter objections and new legal counsel involvement.
- North Nantasket Beach Operations & Maintenance Plan: Continued to July 14 to allow DPW representation on seaweed-management language and for staff to forward NHESP materials and fees.
Commission staff will send the June 23 submissions and new materials to town council and ensure continued items are on the July 14 agenda. Parties were told to expect notice of next steps from Conservation staff.
