The Hull Planning Board completed its annual reorganization on June 24, electing Megan Riley as chair, Abby Cleman as vice chair and Lisa French as clerk.
Nominations were made from the floor after the board reviewed the general responsibilities for each office. Candidates accepted on the record. The board used roll-call votes conducted over Zoom. The clerk ballot (Lisa French) passed unanimously. For chair, Megan Riley received four yes votes and two no votes and was elected. Abby Cleman was approved as vice chair by unanimous roll call.
Board members discussed the responsibilities of each role before voting, including agenda setting, representing the planning board when authorized, and the clerk's possible expanded duties in ensuring minutes accuracy and proofreading. Members agreed the board can later consider codifying more specific role duties as part of its goals for the year.
The new officers will carry out regular responsibilities and take part in upcoming tasks, including committee appointments and master plan follow-up work.
