Exeter station committee schedules Plan New Hampshire charrette for Aug. 7–8 to shape station-area improvements

The Facilities Advisory Committee received an update from the reconstituted train station committee on efforts to improve the area around Exeter’s train platform.
Don Grizzle said the committee invited Plan New Hampshire to run a community charrette on Aug. 7–8, with a public input session scheduled for Aug. 7 at 3:00 p.m. The charrette aims to produce actionable recommendations on station amenities (bathrooms, wayfinding), multimodal connections and ways to draw visitors from the station into downtown businesses and events.
The committee discussed the station’s ridership growth since the pandemic and noted Exeter ranks among the busier small‑town stops on the regional rail; Bob Hall compiles monthly ridership reports. Members encouraged broad public participation, outreach to property owners and coordination with regional partners serving the train line.
No formal votes were taken. The committee plans to share promotional materials (flyers and QR codes) and to use findings from the charrette to guide future station-area investments.
