St. Bernard school board proclaims Chalmette High alumnus Mitchell Robinson, schedules homecoming parade June 25

The St. Bernard Parish School Board voted by acclamation to adopt a proclamation honoring Mitchell Robinson, a 2017 Chalmette High School graduate and member of the 2026 NBA champion New York Knicks.
The proclamation, read during the June 23 regular meeting, credited Robinson’s high-school and professional honors and said his achievement “has brought great pride to Chalmette High School, St. Bernard Parish, and the entire community.” The board approved the proclamation 10-0.
Board members said Robinson’s return will include a morning youth basketball camp and a 1:30 p.m. presentation at Val Riess. The board also announced a press conference and a championship parade set for Thursday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. The parade will begin at Chalmette Mall (8700 West Judge Perez Drive) and travel east along Judge Perez Drive for roughly 1.6 miles to conclude at Chalmette High School.
“It's just wonderful to see that he has gone and achieved this accomplishment,” board member Mr. Boesch said, praising Robinson’s play in high-school state semifinals and his character off the court. Board leaders encouraged community attendance at the scheduled events and said the board will present a copy of the proclamation to Robinson when he returns.
The proclamation and parade plans were presented as part of agenda item 2.1; the board moved by joint acclamation and recorded the vote as 10-0. The board asked parish government and other local entities to assist with event logistics.
